Burak Yedekçi - Producer/Director

Born in Izmir, Burak Yedekçi completed his undergraduate education at Ege University's Radio, Television and Cinema Department. He continued his academic studies with a thesis-based master's degree in Substance Addiction at Ege University Institute of Health Sciences. Finally, he completed his PhD in Forensic Sciences at Çukurova University Institute of Addiction and Forensic Sciences.

His passion for cinema and photography transformed into a professional pursuit during his university years. During this period, he participated in national and international festivals with the short films and documentaries he shot to take the first steps of his career. After his undergraduate education, he taught courses in areas such as photography and filmmaking, and communication arts.

His master's education in health and psychiatry deepened his interest in the relationship between art and science. During his doctoral studies, he took courses such as Crime Scene Investigation, Criminal Psychopathology, Forensic Imaging Methods, and Photography in Criminology, gaining an analytical perspective on analyzing human behavior. With this multifaceted vision, he worked on international media and art projects in many countries including Greece, Italy, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, alongside Turkey.

In 2019, he founded SOFILM Production company, which produces films, animations, documentaries and commercials, in order to transform this knowledge and vision into concrete projects. Since its establishment, the company has undertaken the production and post-production processes of many different projects.

Burak Yedekçi, who continues to work as a producer and director at SOFILM Production, is a member of Se-Yap Turkey Cinema Work Producers Professional Association and BSB Documentary Filmmakers Association, and holds the Cinema Work Permanent Producer Certificate issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Copyright.
